GUATEMALAN MESSAGE
Appeal Made To Britain (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, June 26. Britain’s abstention on Guatemala’s attempt to get the United Nations Security Council to consider her complaint of aggression was made after a cablegram had been received in London from the Guatemalan Foreign Ministry, a British Foreign Office spokesman said today. The spokesman would not disclose the contents of the cablegram but a statement issued by the Guatemalan Legation m London last night appealed to the British Government and people to take such steps as possible in the United Nations to stop the bloodshed.” It is expected that the British reply to the cablegram will consist only of formal acknowledgement
U.S. Express Jumps Tracks.—At least 76 persons were taken to hospital last night when eight carriages of the Rocky Mountain Rocket express jumped the tracks near here. Hospital reports showed that about 16 of the injured were seriously hurt—Hallam (Nebraska), June 26.
