K FORCE MEN TO LEAVE FROM HAREWOOD

Christchurch airport will be the inward and outward terminal for many New Zealand servicemen when the new twice-weekly Christchurch-Syd-ney DC-6 services are started by Tasman Empire Airways at the end of this month. K Force replacements from the Southern Military District will leave from Christchurch for Japan, and troops returning on leave for the Central and Southern Districts will also pass through the airport. The first outward bound party will leave on June 30, the first flight from Christchurch on the new service. On July 6 the first group of 23 men will arrive from Japan. Arrivals and departures will then continue at fortnightly intervals.
