Fairy Whispers scored an imcrover’s third placing at Amberley last month. He may race well in the Trial Handicap at Oamaru. Fleur did well for an unraced youngster to finish alongside Fairy Whispers. She ss a two-year-old filly by Massowa from Lady Rosette, and will race in the colours of Mr C. L. Austin. Millrace (B. Lake) and Russley Lad (C. Brace) were two of few others to gallop over fire furlongs. They recorded Imin 5 2-s Sec for the distance, and 39 3-5 see for the last three furlcngs. Margaret Leigh (C. McDonald) and Russ- ' letgft (D. Finnte) sprinted home from 'the half-mile in 52 4-ssec, and finished on terms. Gone Away (D. J. Thistdl/ equalled j that time. Accountant (C. Both have t engagements, at Oamaru, Puccini in the r Trial Handicap and Barrow Boy in the : Farewell Hack Handicap. Puccini showed speed to lead to the straight at Amberley last month. She needed that race, but should be at her best now. A Manawatu Steeplechase candidate. ■Ryeland (B. -Wass), ran home from the five furtongs in Imin 8 4-ssec, the last three in 41 2-ssec. His races at Wingatui should have brought him to his peak. Likely Improver Super Find (W. D. Skelton) sprinted home from the six furlongs in Imin 22sec after running the first three in 41 4-ssec. This improving Super filly worked keenly, and may improve on her Amberley fourth at Oamaru. Prosecutor fj, W. McDonald) made a very good impression in his first trials oyer the pony hurdles. He jumped each night three times, and did not put a foot .wrong.
