AIR TERMINAL AT HAREWOOD

Sir, —This morning I paid my first visit to the international airport. The plane departed nearly two hours late. That was nobody’s fault, but whose fault is it that the conditions are so primitive and uncomfortable? I have read much about the importance of having increased international traffic in Christchurch, but it is a grave reflection on someone that we have so little to offer to overseas visitors—no heat, uncomfortable surroundings, and to say the least, primitive sanitary arrangements. For a dignified city like Christchurch, it is a poor welcome to visitors. Who is going to do something and when?—Yours, etc., F. C. MYERS. June 13, 1954.
