R.A.F. OFFICERS END EXCHANGE DUTY
DEPARTURE FROM WIGRAM Two . Royal Air Force officers /who were posted on exchange to the Royal New Zealand Air Force station, wigram two years ago, will return to England next month. Each will be accompanied by his wife and two children. Squadron Leader J. E. Holland, D.F.C., RA.F., has spent all his time in New Zealand at Wigram as officer commanding the Central Flying School. Under his direction, many trainee pilots have completed courses to qualify for their wings. He will return to the Royal Air Force, but at present does not know to which station he will be posted. • Wigrarfi’s station education officer for the last two years has been Squadron Leader W. S. C. Watkins. He is a B.Sc. of Bristol University, and also holds the university’s diploma of education. Before his posting to the R.N.Z.A.F., he was education officer in the R.A.F. Flying Training Command. Before the Second World War, he spent some time in Persia with the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company. Squadron Leader J. Rees, 8.E.M., who has just returned to New Zealand after three years’ exchange duty with the Royal ‘Air Force, has been appointed chief technical officer at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station, Wigram. While in England he was technical officer at headquarters of Fighter Command and at Fighter Command operational conversion unit.
