DIAMOND WEDDING
MR AND MRS W. DEAL Mr and Mrs Walter Deal, of Bell road, Remuera, Auckland, will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary today. Both Mr and Mrs Deal were bom in Canterbury and their parents were early pioneers of the province. Mr Deal was an officer of the Ellesmere Mounted Rifles and later a captain in the Gore Mounted National Reserve. He was a member of several local bodies and was made a Justice of the Peace in 1907. For 47 years he has been a member of the Masonic Order and is a past master. Mrs Deal was an active worker for patriotic organisations during the First World War and shares with her husband a keen interest in church work. Mr and Mrs Deal have five children, 11 grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren. A family reunion will be held at their home today.
