Dear Sirs, About three months ago I purchased from your firm a 1954 Renault 750 saloon, and I thought you would be pleased to know of the performance my car put up on a 1250-mile tour through the North Island. I had an enjoyable non-stop run, and the petrol consumption worked out at 47 miles to the gallon. I was cruising at a speed of 50-55 miles an hour. The faster my car went the smoother she ran, and the road holding ability at high speeds \fras remarkable. I had no difficulty in negotiating the steeper hills. The route I took was from Wellington, through Taranaki, King Country to Auckland, and I returned via the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, back through the King Country and Taranaki again. I never had to get down to low gear on hills, and always had any amount -of reserve power. Many bigger car drivers were surprised when I passed them on hills at 35-40 m.p.h. I was very impressed with the independent suspension, which certainly smooths out rough reads. I agree with the Renault claim that you csn cruise comfortably at 60 m.p.h. in a 750 model Renault. Another important feature is that during the whole trip the car let in no dust. In conclusion, to anybody requiring a powerful light car, economical to run.
