Woman Earns £93 in a Month Sums of up to £93 a month from kauri gum have been earned by a Maori woman, Mrs Rakete, of Kaikohe, Northland. She has collected quantities of gum brought to the surface “by heavy discing of the old gumfields now known as the Punakitere development block, five miles west of Kaikohe. Working eight hours a day since development first began more' than 12 months ago, Mrs Rakete has been a big contributor to the family budget. .
