ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED

CEREMONY AT LINCOLN A roll of honour bearing the names of nine men who left the district to serve in the South African War, 58 who went to World War I. and 45 who went to World War H. was unveiled at the Lincoln public hall yesterday morning. The unveiling was performed by Mr S. Bray, a past president of the Springs County and surrounding districts Returned Services’ Association, who said it was a pity that the way different sections of the community rallied round to j help the national effort in time of war' was not continued in peace time. The Revs. R. Williams. J. S. Freeman and Jenkin took part in the service, which was attended by the president of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association, Mr G. D. Hattaway. and the president of the South African War Veterans’ Association, Mr W. A. Beck, as well as a large number of local residents.
