CHRISTCHURCH AMENITIES
Sir,—Your correspondent, “Common Sense,” has struck the right chord to tune in with public opinion. One breathes freely when entering the precincts of the Auckland railway station. It is majestic, with a friendly atmosphere, in comparison with the Christchurch railway station, which is practically out in toe open. The real humour of it is that the South Island finances the North Island in these progressive projects. We must endeavour to retain the spirit of our noble pioneers; their achievements were accomplished 100 ygars ago.—Youra etc, SLOW COACH. May 2, 1954.
