SONS OF TEMPERANCE SOCIETY

ANNUAL CONFERENCE The highest award in the order of the Sons of Temperance Friendly Society—the Past Most Worthy Patriarch’s Jewel—was presented to Mr H. M. Tomlinson, secretary of the order, at its annual conference in Christchurch on Saturday. The Excelsior division, Addington, won both the adult and juvenile membership shields and these were presented to Messrs H. N. and I. Taylor, on behalf of the sections. The following officers were elected:— past Patriarchs, Messrs D. F. Keir and E. J. Kiddey; Patriarch, Mr F. Baird; associate, Mr H. N. Taylor; secretary, Mr H. M. Tomlinson; treasurer, Mr S. J. Bultitude; chaplain, Mr W. A. Smith; conductor, Mr A. Rowlands; sentinel, Mr F. W. Hitchings; trustees, Messrs R. W. Fairweather, A. F. Wisker, and C. S. Clements.
