CHRISTCHURCH SWORDS CLUB
A donation of £5 5s towards the cost of sending a New Zealand fencing team to the British Empire Games at Vancouver next month will be made by th* Christchurch Swords Club, it was decided at the club’s annual meeting. The donation will be sent to the Canterbury Provincial Amateur Fencing CounciL Officers elected were: patron, Mr H. Worrall; president. Miss M. Andrews; vice-presidents, Messrs? W. S. Elsom, D. Crosbie, H. E. Cox. and Mrs F. M. Andrew®; secretary, Mr. K. A. Martin; assis’ tant-secretary, Mrs E? McElwee; treasurer. Mr P. Temple; club captain, Mr A. J. K. Simmance; vice-captain, Mrs McElwee; committee, Messrs B. Miller. T. Ewing, J. Matheson, and R. C. Holliss, and Mrs N. Bennett. Opening night will be held on May S.
