AUTUMN HANDICAP TO SHERWOOD LAD (New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI, April 11. I The Whangarei Racing Club’s autumn meeting was concluded on Saturday in dull but fine weather. The track was in good order. The Sherwood Lad-Zenette double paid - £49 3s 6d for £l. The totalisator on-course handled £61,043, including £8675 on doubles, and the off-course £19,684 10s, including £8592 on doubles. The aggregate was £80,727 10s. The total for the meeting was £237,816 10s, compared with £212,474 10s last year. Excitement fell in the last race, and pevonmore fell over him. R. Petley, rider of Excitement, broke a collar-bone and injured an eye. He was admitted to hospital. B. K. Bradley, the rider of Devonmore, was badly shaken. The horses were not injured.
