EXHIBITION RUN BY JOHNNY GLOBE

TRIAL OVER ONE MILE IN SADDLE

If conditions are favourable Johnny Globe will give an exhibition run over one mile in saddle at trials to be held by the Canterbury Owners’ and Breeders’ Association at Addington on Monday, April 26.

Although Johnny Globe has not raced in saddle, he has often been ridden about. Two years ago he was worked one mile and a half freelegged and in saddle at Addington in 3min 12sec. On that occasion he was riddpn by B. G. Nyhan, a son of his owner-trainer. At present there is no New Zealand record listed for one mile in saddle from a standing start. In 1942 at Addington Gold Bar, from a standing stArt, paced one mile in saddle in 2min 3 3-ssec, which is the present record. Ashburton R.C. Entries Nominations for the trotting events on both days of the Ashburton Racing Club’s Autumn meeting will close on Monday, April 12, at 4 p.m. Advt. NEW ZEALAND METROPOLITAN TROTTING CLUB (INC.)
