WOOL SALE AT WANGANUI

BUOYANT MARKET PRICES DEARER THAN AT JANUARY AUCTION (New Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI, MetVh 26. . The market was buoyant at the third main wool sale of the season in Wanganui today, and prices were from 5 to 10 per cent, dearer than at the January sale. The firming tendency shown at the Auckland sale was well maintained.

The official report, issued by the Wanganui Woolbrokers’ Association, says that a catalogue of 30,000 bales was submitted. The offering comprised a greater proportion of oddments than at earlier sales, but there were a few attractive and wellgrown late-shorn clips. Most of these had been skirted and well got up. They commanded top prices. All classes of wool, except lambs’, sold at improved rates. Lambs’ wool was about steady on recent rates. Compared’ with the January sale, prices generally were from 5 to 10 per cent, better, depending on quality. Competition was good and fairly well spread.
