MIGRATION TO NEW ZEALAND
MINISTER’S FORECAST (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 25. During the next 12 months assisted immigration would probably declme by one-third, to a total of about 40OT. but after new settlers paying their own fares had been added to that numDCJ the immigrant total for the year wouia probably reach 17,000, said the Minister of Immigration (Mr W. Sullivan) today. For the year ending March 31 we number of assisted immigrants wotua be about 6000, and the total intake would ,be about 18,000.
