TRUST HOTEL FOR CHEVIOT

Sir, —I believe we are to have a trust hotel in Cheviot. Are the costs and financial arrangements with the Government as they were when the county council took the poll? If not, is it legal tp carry on without another poll? Will the ratepayers be responsible for any loss? Has the Government the power to sell the hotel if it is not a payable proposition although they may supply only a small proportion of the finance? —Yours, etc., HOPEFUL 5 PER CENT. Cheviot, March 1, 1954. [The clerk of the Cheviot County Council (Mr F. A. Whitcombe) said yesterday that if the correspondent would call at the county office or make written application to the council upder his own name an endeavour would be made to answer his questions.]
