OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, March 25. The weather forecast for Christchurch issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is: Situation: Pressures are high over northern New Zealand, and a trough of low pressure is approaching the South Island from the west. Forecast: fresh winds in most places, north-east on the coast, north-west inland; weather mostly fair; some rain in the alps and the south-west at night; temperatures moderate. Outlook: some showers early. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— North to north-west winds, freshening in places; cloudy, with rain in the south, spreading slowly northward during the evening; temperatures moderate to cool. Outlook: further showers.

CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was line, with a light to moderate north-east wind and a maximum temperature of 64.7 degrees.
