Anderton will ride Armando in the Novice Handicap. No jockey has yet been engaged for First Whack (Farewell Handicap), which was left with his part-owner. Dr. J. A. Thompson, at Waimate after the Oamaru meeting. The Paper Slipper gelding raced well below his best form at Oamaru, but he got his tongue over the bit.
