Wilson’s team for the Waimate Racing Club’s meeting on SaturdayChief Mate (Studholme High-weight) and Perfect Peach (Farewell Hack Handicap) —are doubtful starters. If they do not make the trip, only three representatives from Wingatui will race at the meeting. Wait-a-Bit will be ridden by the stable jockey, D. Dawson, in the high-weight, and B. J. Anderton will ride Armando in the Novice Handicap. No jockey has yet been engaged for First Whack (Farewell Handicap), which was left with his part-owner. Dr. J. A. Thompson, at Waimate after the Oamaru meeting. The Paper Slipper gelding raced well below his best form at Oamaru, but he got his tongue over the bit.
