At a meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday, the lady superintendent of the Christchurch Hospital (Mrs M. Chambers) and the matron of the Burwood Hospital (Miss L. Ennis) were granted leave to attend the matrons’ conference and the conference of the New Zealand Registered Nurses’ Association in Auckland from April 5 to April 10. Miss S. Smith (matron of the Jubilee Home) and Sister H. Campbell (Christchurch Hospital) were granted leave from April 6 to April 10 to attend the nurses’ conference. Miss Derbidge and one other physiotherapist were granted leave to attend the annual conference of physiotherapists and a special two-day postgraduate study course to be held in conjunction with the conference.
