RANGIORA VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE

A credit balance of £306 16s 8d was reported at the eightieth annual meeting of the Ranglora Volunteer Fire Brigade. The chief fire officer (Mr C. W.» Tyler) presided.

The brigade had responded to nine alarms during the last year, it was reported. The present strength of the brigade was 19 members and a messenger.

The following members had qualified for service honours:—three-year service certificate: Fireman L. Brougham; two years’ additional service, silver bar; Fireman P. W. Hills, completing seven years; Fireman B. Dench, completing nine years; Fireman P. Robertson, completing nine years: Motorman J. Thompson, completing 15 years; Fireman A. Ford, completing 27 years; Deputy-chief Fire Officer H. Thompson, completing 29 years; Fireman E. Nelmes, completing 33 years: Chief Fire Officer C. W. Tyler, completing 45 years.
