FOURTH TEST DRAWN
CRICKET
WEST INDIES LEADS IN SERIES
UNBEATABLE POSITION (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) PORT OF SPAIN, Mar. 23. The fourth test match between *the M.C.C. and the West Indies ended in a draw today after the match had become almost farcical after lunch with neither side having much hope of winning. The West Indies declared the second innings closed at tea with four down for 212. ■ They were then 356 runs ahead. England, with only 70 minutes left to play, had scored 98 for the loss of three wickets at the close. The West Indian hard-hitters, Worrell and Walcott, gave an exhibition of fiery batting before the declaration. England lost two quick wickets, but there was then no doubt of the final result. The West Indies has won two tests and England one, so that England cannot now win the series. Scores:— WEST INDIES First innings (for eight wickets dec.) 681
