N.Z. RED CROSS SOCIETY
AYLESBURY SUBCENTRE Mrs R. W. Freeman presided over a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Aylesbury Sub-centre of the Red Cross Society held at her home recently. The president thanked all who had helped so willingly and generously with donations and vegetables for the centre shop, day appeal, and sales tables held at the meetings. Donations were made during the. year as follows: —sponsorship of Greek child, £lO 10s; headquarters building fund. £3; Burwood Hospital and Rannerdale Home Christmas parcels, 15/-, and assessment, £2, Officers were elected as follows: — president, Mrs Freeman; vice-presi-dents, Miss C. Harwood, Mrs L. Pascoe and Miss D. Bell; secretary, Miss J. Fechney; treasurer, Mrs J. McLean; committee, all women members. KIMBERLEY SUB-CENTRE Mrs C. Bilbrough presided at the annual meeting of the Kimberley subcentre of the Red Cross Society. The annual report said a good response had been made to appeals for potatoes, vegetables and eggs for the Good Neighbour Service. A number of garments had been sent in to the North Canterbury centre. Members were asked to make donations of cakes and produce for the annual market to be held in May. The election of officers resulted as 1 follows: patron. Mrs A. A. Stott; presi- • dent Mrs C. Miss Noeline Knight, matron-in-chief of Wellington Public Hospital, will soon retire from that position, and will make her home at Paraparaumu beach. Miss Knight was born and educated in Christchurch, and trained as a nurse in the Christchurch Hospital
