Favell, who opened for South Australia. scored frfeely all round the wicket and hit 11 fours in 96 minutes. The right- , hand fast bowler, A. Fagan, started the (South Australia coHapse m a sensational second over when he dismissed the
opener, G. Stevens, and the test batsman, G. Hole.
Scores:—South Australia, first innings 255 (Favell 71, P. Ridings 48, Watts 76: Fagan two for 59, R. Benaud four for 70, R. Simpson four for 38). New South Wales, first innings 74 for none (R. Briggs 37 not out, Watson 37 not out).
