Surprise In Davis Cup Zone Final

His teammate, Philippe Washer, earlier had Tony.Trabert in straight sets. With the tie now even, the doubles match tomorrow will be vitally important to both teams. The experts had given the Belgians little chance of beating the American team. When Washer was easily beaten by Trabert it came as a great surprise to the crowd of 5000 to see Brichant proceed to outplay Seixas. The, sympathies of the spectators were with the Belgian. '-they became so excited when Brichant won the first two sets that an umpire had to appeal for quietness during the rallies. Seixas took the third set, but Brichant won the fourth with another brilliant burst. • Trabert at no stage looked in danger m the opening singles match.
