NEW 1½d STAMP.—Provisional 1½d stamp stocks are almost exhausted because of the heavy postings of Christmas cards. To meet the demand the permanent Queen Elizabeth issue of the 1½d stamps is being placed on sale within the next few days at post offices throughout New Zealand. There will not be any set first day of issue. The new stamp has been designed by Mr L. G. Mitchell, of Wellington, and printed by Messrs Bradbury, Wilkinson, Ltd., in Britain. Its colour is brown.
