TRICK OF JAPANESE BATH WORKERS

(From a Reuter Correspondent) TOKYO. Employees of a big public bath house in Osaka, Western Japan, recently asked for a wage increase. Their employer refused. A few days later the bath house owner was at first pleasantly surprised when customers began arriving in a continuous stream. About 150 men paid for tickets during the course of an hour or two. The bath was full and customers -were being turned away. After turning customers away for several hours, the owner discovered his bath was full of union members. They had paid to have a bath and could not be forced to leave. The bath house workers got a wage increase.
