CLAIM TO WEST NEW GUINEA
INDONESIA TO SET UP BUREAU THE HAGUE. Dec. 1. The Indonesian Cabinet, in a sixhour session, tonight decided to establish a bureau with the task of coordinating efforts to get Western »New Guinea incorporated into the Indonesian Republic, according to a message from Jakarta. The Indonesian news agency Aneta quoted the information Minister (Dr. Torbing) as saying that the bureau would consist of the Ministerial Council, headed by the Premier (Dr. Ali Sastroamidjojo) with an executive consisting of a chairman and a number of commissioners, assisted by a secretariat. Replying to questions, Dr. Torbing said the bureau could not be regarded as an “emergency government” for the territory. The establishment of the bureau lay in the line of the realisation of the Government’s programme. He also said the Government had not yet considered sending a mission to Holland for talks on DutchIndonesian relations.
Alligator “Wrestler” Bitten.—William McLellan, a 20-year-old alligator “wrestler,” was fiercely mauled today when he stuck his head in a big alligator’s mouth during his act in Florida. The alligator clamped its jaws shut. McLellan was dragged to safety, and a doctor inserted 60 stitches in gashes on his face and neck.—New York, December 1.
