£42,500 OFFERED FOR BUILDING

HIGH STREET PROPERTY PASSED AT AUCTION

A three-storey building in High street was passed in at £42,500 when offered at public auction in Christchurch yesterday. The building was offered on account of Hazel Woods Holdings (Christchurch), Ltd., and has a frontage of 34ft on High street and a depth of 81ft.

Twelve persons attended the sale. Bidding, which opened at £38,000, was brisk. Three bids of £lOOO took the property to £41,000 and three further bids of £5OO brought the property to the final price, at which it was passed in. It is understood that the reserve price was only slightly more than the final offer of £42,500. The building at present comprises shops and dentist’s rooms.
