EXAMINATION “LEAKAGE”

MEDICAL STUDENTS TO SIT AGAIN

(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 30. All final year Medical School students at the University of Otago will have to sit their written obstetrics and gynaecological paper again tomorrow evening. The students, who met at the Medical School early today, were given this information by the Dean (Sir Charles Hercus). There are 117 sixth-year students in Dunedin from all parts of New Zealand who will have to sit the examination again. This has been made necessary because of a leakage of information in Auckland a few weeks ago. The meeting at the Medical School was scheduled to begin at 12.30 p.m. today and shortly before that time knots of students had begun to congregate outside. The imminent repeat examination was the topic of discussion. After the meeting. Sir Charles Hercus said the students had received the information that they were required to sit the examination again “perfectly satisfactorily.” He said he had not anticipated any difficulty with the students. He had simply informed them of the facts and the action that had been taken.
