Mr Cahill said: “If the effect of this bill is to secure for the Government that information which is alleged to be in the possession of certain newspapers end individuals, the measure will have served its purpose.” A. message from London Says the Daily Express” in a leading article has criticised the bill. . “It is an intolerable measure, striking a blow at freedom everywhere,” the-newspaper said. “Australia may seem a long way away.
