The Biihop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev, A, K. Warren) and Mrs Warren will visit the' West Coast this week, when Bishop Warren will preside at a debutante ball which will open the seventy-fifth jubilee celebrations of Holy Trinity Church. Kumara. Several of the 18 debutantes to be presented to Bishop and Mrs Warren are the daughters or grand-daughters of couples who were married in Holy Trinity Church. Mr and Mrs J. F. Cracroft Wilson (Cashmere), who have been visiting Britain, are returning to New Zealand in the Rangitoto, due in Wellington tomorrow. Miss Rosemarv Norrie has arrived in Auckland by air to spend six months in New Zealand She was met at Mechanics Bay on arrival by Lady Norrie and Misses Sarah and Annabel Norrie. The Victoria League of New Zealand has marked the Royal tour by sending an illuminated address of loyalty to the Queen. Sent to London by air. and handed to the Queen’s private secretary, Lieutenant-Colonel Martin Charteris. it arrived a few days before the Royal couple left Buckingham Palace. It was the first, address in honour of the tour that the Queen received. The address was executed by an Auckland artist. Miss Margaret Thompson, who specialised in calligraphy when she won a travelling scholarship to study at the London County School of Arts. The address was sent in the name qf all branches of the league in the Dominion.

Five-year-old Prince Charles is taking riding lessons. The Prince rode a pony-—with a leading rein—several times last summer, and Her Majesty the Queen has now bought him a nine-year-old red’ Welsh mountain ponv standing just over 10 hands, which has been ridden by children since it was two. Prince Charles has Lessons in the indoor riding school at Buckingham Palace —horses are less restless indoors—and hii teacher is Miss Sybil Smith, of Maidenhead, not far from Windsor.
