ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP PYLON (N2. Press Association—Copyright) LX)NDON, November 24. Police headquarters at Dumfries, Scotland, said tonight an attempt to disrupt the electricity supply of England and Scotland this afternoon by blowing up a power pylon close to the side of the Low road between Dumfries and Carlisle, about eight miles east of Dumfries, had been discovered. The pylon was slightly damaged. The police said? “It was found that charger of explosives had been placed at the foot of the four steel supports forming the column. “Only one charge exploded, causing slight damage to the foot of the steel support. The electricity supply was not interrupted. People living in the district heard the explosion about 2 p.m. on Sunday.”
