GUERRILLA WAR CONTINUES

(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) SEOUL, Nov. 24. The South Korean national poliqe announced today th'at police and Communist guerrillas have been fighting savagely for more than a year in the Mount Chiri area of south-west Korea. Fighting is still in progress. A battle flared up last night when more than 50 guerrillas disguised as South Korean troops attacked a fortified police station at Uiryong, 15 miles from ' Mount Chiri—the traditional hiding place of Korean guerrillas for centuries.

About 10 pollbemen were on duty when the guerrillas attacked. They killed the police chief and another policeman, but the fate of the remainder is not yet known. Provincial security police rushed to the scene and surrounded the guerrillas as they were .preparing to withdraw to the mountain.
