Dr. F. G. Soper, chairman of the professorial board of the University of Otago, has been appointed Vice-Chan-cellor of the university. He will take the position made vacant by the resignation of Dr. R. S. Aitken, who is now Vice-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham.
Mr Roy Freethy, manager' of the Bank of New Zealand, Sydney, has been appointed manager of the bank’s London branch. He will take up his new appointment early in the New Year.—(PA..)
The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. D. P. Kennedy, and the Deputy Medical Officer of Health, Dr. H. T. Knights, will leave this morning to visit the West Coast from Greymouth to Wataroa. Dr. Kennedy will return to Christchurch tomorrow evening.
