N.Z. BEGINS WELL
Natal 83 For Three (From the Special N.Z.P.A. Correspondent with the team) (Rec. 12.20 a.m.) DURBAN, Nov. 20. New Zealand had taken three wickets for 83 runs at lunch (MacGibbon two for 25) when Natal opened its first innings after winning the toss and electing to bat on an extremely hard but surprisingly grassylooking pitch at Durban this morning. The outfield looked like a wellkept bowling green, and the weather is expected to become very hot later in the day. This is the most important match so far of the New Zealand tour. Of the 12 players selected for Natal, the fast-medium bowler, King, has been named as twelfth man. From the, New 'Zealand team, Poore and Beck, froth of whom are recovering from what has become an almost inevitable stomach disorder, have been omitted, and Bell has been made twelfth man.
