EXPRESSION OF DUKE’S VIEWS

Church Paper Attacks Critics \

LONDON, November 19. An article in the religious journal “British Weekly,” which circulates

among the Free Churches in Britain, the Dominions, and the United States, attacks critics who have condemned the Duke of Edinburgh for his views on national service.

To people who think the Duke should not express his opinions in public it states: “We look forward to the Duke’s next venture, in public speaking.”

Under the heading, “Phillip the Silent?” a leading article states: “We have a Prince who has opinions, and the intelligence to justify them, and the ability to express them. “He is not a Royal moron, and there is no reason in the world why he should be expected to behave like one. “Philip would have been a major asset in the House of Commons, where we really have some inarticulate nonentities whose inarticulateness is not constitutionally enforced.”
