SUNLIGHT LEAGUE

DRIVE FOR NEW MEMBERS PROPOSED Concern at the falling off in membership of the Sunlight League was expressed both in the chairman’s report and in discussion at the annual meeting last evening. The league at present had 12 financial members, said the chairman (Dr. D. E. Currie). The matter had come almost to “a showdown,” said Mrs T. A. Fleming. Miss C. Wilding, the founder of the league 31 years ago. said that something should be done to increase membership. She suggested appointing an organising secretary to conduct a drive for members. Mrs J. G. Collins said that some effort should be made to revive the Junior Sunlight League. “Under the new constitution, the committee has power to purge the membership roll of all non-financial members,” said the chairman’s report. “It is recommended that the incoming committee give serious consideration to doing this.” Officers elected were:— Patron and patroness: the GovernorGeneral (Sir Willoughby Norrie) and Lady Norrie: secretary, Mr R. G. H. Bullock; treasurer, Mr C. G. McKellar; executive committee, Miss C. Wilding. Mrs J. M. Tripp, Messrs J. H. Rhodes. C. G. McKellar, and R. G. H. Bullock, and Professor Steele.
