570 d For One Bale Of Lambs’ Wool

(Rec. 11.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 17. The record price for lamb’s wool soared at Geelong wool sales today to 570 d per lb—s3Jd up on the record figure of yesterday.

Today’s price was for one bale of extra super Merino. The bale would be worth about £7OO Australian. There was full clearance of 11,700 bales at today’s sale and generally prices were firm and unchanged. The main buyers were the Continent, Britain, local mills and Japan. Among the prices were: 80’s, 209 d; 66’s, 159 d; super 64’s, 139 d; 60’s, 124|d; 58’s, 106 d; 56’s, 93d; 50’s, 80d; 46’s, 72d.
