ACCIDENTS

BOY DROWNED IN WAIROA RIVER (New Zealand Press Association) WAIROA, November 18. When he fell from a boat into the Wairoa river about 4.30 p.m. yesterday, a 14-year-old schoolboy lost his life. Hq was: Mervyn Douglas Bloomfield, only son of Mr and Mrs Bloomfield, of Wairoa. CAR AND BICYCLE COLLIDE When the bicycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a light van at the corner of Kerrs and Buckleys roads early last evening, Mr M. Vaughan, of 105 Smith street, suffered injuries to a leg. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 7.30 p.m., where his condition was reported to be satisfactory.
