QUEEN’S VISIT TO WHENUAPAI
Parade By 650 Air Force Personnel
COLOUR PRESENTATION CEREMONY
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 5. About 650 members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force win parade at the Whenuapai Air Force station at 11 a.m. on December 28, when the Queen arrives to present the colours. The ceremony, open to the public, will take 35 minutes. Then the Royal party will leave by air for Kaikohe and its northern tour.
Members of the Air Board and the Government will be present at the ceremony. .
The officers ’and airmen will be drawn from Air Force stations and establishments throughout the coun-. try. The parade commander has yet to be named. The qolour party will confcist of an' officer, a colour bearer, and two* senior non-commissioned officers.
There will be five squadrons of 126 persons on parade—a colour escort squadron, a WA..A.F. squadron drawn from all units, a squadron from Whenuapai, and one from Hobsonville. A band of 40 members will attend.
The colour escort squadron will begin training at Whenuapai at the beginning of next month. The other personnel will start their training about the middle of the month.
c The R.N.Z.A.F. will be responsible for controlling aircraft at the fieldsused by the Royal party, servicing the aircraft, and assisting with the transport of baggage. The R.N.Z.A.Fguard of honour for the departure from Bluff will be provided from the colour escort squadron.
