POWER OF ASIAN COMMUNISM
BAPTIST MISSIONARIES’
Although the power of communism was not to be underestimated, the Christian Church would stand long after the forces of communism were spent, said the Rev. B. N. Eade at the annual assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand in Christchurch* yesterday. Mr Eade was discussing the threatened influence of communism on the Christian Chttrch in India, where he has been ,a missionary for the last 27 years. “I have no fear of communism,” he said. The same view was expressed by the Rev; D. R. Edwards when speaking of the stand the Church was making in China. Mr Edwards served as a missionary in China, and, after his enforced withdrawal from the country, continued his work in India. Though he had received no news of many Christian leaders in China, he was sure that they would be faithful to the Church no matter how great rhe opposition was against them, Mr Edwards said.
