ST. PETER’S CHURCH FAIR

PROCEEDS TOTAL £5OO Several hundred persons visited the annual fair of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Riccarton, held in the church grounds on Saturday afternoon. Proceeds from the fair, which totalled £5OO, will be devoted to the church’s general purposes account. Marquees erected in the grounds contained stalls for cut flowers and plants, work, sweets, cakes, variety, produce, refreshments and side shows. Hay rides, ponv rides and an exhibition of toy trains catered for children. There was also a display by girls of Buckett’s Gymnasium and the Christchurch Municipal Band was in attendance.
