MIGRATION FROM EUROPE
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) VENICE. October 11. The inter-governmental committee for European migration, will meet in Venice tomorrow to intensify joint Western action to ease Europe’s overpopulation. The conference expects to hear a strong plea from the Italian Government for urgent consideration to Italy’s excess population problem. The committee, set up nearly two years ago to help migration from the crowded areas of Western Europe, has assisted the resettlement overseas of 138,628 Europeans, principally from Italy, Trieste. Greece. Germany. Austria and the Netherlands. Of 6102 moved this year, approximately half have gone to Canada, the others to Australia. Brazil, the United States, Argentina and Venezuela.
