MURDER CHARGE AT NAPIER

WOMAN REMANDED TILL TOMORROW (New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, October 12. Edna May Wilson, a 46-year-old laundress, appeared in the Napier Magistrate’s Court today charged with the murder of Harriet Sarah Player, aged 81, and Sarah Eliza Armitage, aged 72, at Napier, on September 8. The accused was remanded until Wednesday by Mr W. A. Harlow, S.M. Mr H. C. Sproule, for the Crown, asked for the remand and Wilson’s counsel, Mr H. W. Dowling, consented. The Magistrate asked the accused whether she understood the meaning of the remand. She replied quietly, “Yes, sir.”
