LANDSLIDE IN NORWAY
(Rec. 12.30 a.m.) OSLO, October 7. A landslide south of the Norwegian capital, Oslo, buried a bus full of passengers today and covered several other vehicles and houses with mud. The authorities said they were unable to estimate the number of persons killed in the avalanche of mud and stone, which also covered the railway lines and highways connecting Norway to Sweden.
Acrobat Plunges 60 Feet.— Spectators cried out in horror when an Italian acrobat, Franco Croci, lost his hold and plunged 60 feet to the arena from a trapeze at a circus last night. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors feared he had fractured his spine.— Milan, October 7. World Bantam-weight Title Bout— The American boxer, Pappy Gault was named today as an opponent for Jimmy Carruthers for the world bantam-weight title in Sydney on November 13. The terms for*Gault are 7500 dollars with fares and accommodation. In the event of Gault winning the title, he has to fight a return bout with both boxers receiving 25 per cent, of the “gate.”—Sydney, October 7. i
