NO CHANGES IN WAGE RATES . No increases in ordinary wage rates are made in the new award for Taranaki, Wellington. Marlborough, Canterbury, ana Southland places of amusement (other than theatres) and sports bodies’ employees, issued by the Court of Arbitration. h. new clause, however, provides that full-time weekly workers shall, when required to perform work on any Saturday as part of theif\normal working week, be paid in addition to their ordinary rate of pay an amount equal to 25 per cent, of their ordinary rate in respect of the time worked on that day. Exemption from nearly all the clauses of the award will in future apply to billiards-room and skatingrink managers in receipt of not less than £6OO a year, exclusive of overtime. The corresponding figure 4n the old award was £5OO. The award, embodies the terms of settlement arrived at by the assessors in Conciliation Council..
