WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate variable winds; fair in the north, cloudy in the south; mild temperatures. Outlook: cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a light to moderate north-east wind and a maximum temperature of 58 J degrees. At midnight, the sky was clear, and a light north-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 39.4 degrees. The barometer, at 3028 inches (1025.5 millibars), was falling Mowly.
