COUNTY OF WAIMAIRI. PROPOSAL TO CLOSE ROAD TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations, 1949, Notice is Hereby Given that the Waimairi County Council for the purpose of permitting the Canterbury International Air Race Council to control the finish of the International Air Race from London to Harewood, proposes, subject to the approval of tne Minister of Transport, to close BURNSIDE ROAD (Clyde road to Air Port, including portion in Paparua County under the control of the Waimairi County Council) to ordinary vehicular traffic for the periods indicated hereunder. During the proposed periods of closure, the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road:— A permit will be posted to all residents in Burnside road, and Harewood Transit Housing Occupiers will receive permits through their Association. Any person objecting to the proposals is called upon to lodge notice of his objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 12 Noon on Friday, the 25th day of September 1953, at the office of the Council. North road, Papanui. The road proposed to be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic is Burnside road. The periods of proposed closure are: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, tne 10th, 11th and 12th of October, 1953, and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, the 15th October, 1953.
