FRIGATE SAILS FROM AUCKLAND
VISIT TO NOUMEA AND FAR EAST (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 21. The frigate Pukaki sailed from Auckland today on a visit to Noumea and a tour of duty in the Far East. Many relatives and friends of the ship’s complement lined the wharf to wave good-bye. The Pukaki is commanded by Lieutenant-Commander A. V. Kemp-, thpme, R.N.Z.N. Two members of Parliament are on bddrd—Messrs F. L. A. Gotz and E. T. Tirikatene, whq will represent New Zealand at the centenary celebrations of the French settlement in Noumea. They will go to Sydney in the frigate and fly back to New Zealand. The ship will hold working-up exercises off the Australian coast before leaving for the Far East
